Privacy Policy
Trust matters in therapy, and it starts before your first session. Here is exactly what we do — and don't do — with your information.
- 01
Who we are
The Expat Practice by Jordan is a private psychotherapy practice for internationals in Amsterdam. This privacy policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what your rights are.
For questions about your data, you can reach us through the contact form on this website or by post at Osmos Studio, Nassaukade 162/163, 1053 LL Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
- 02
What information we collect
We only collect information you choose to share with us directly:
- Consultation requests: your first and last name, email address, what you are looking for (the type of therapy and whether you prefer in-person, online, or hybrid sessions), and any message you write to us.
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address, and which form you used.
- Communication: if you email us or speak with us, we keep a record of that contact so we can respond and, if we work together, plan your care.
- 03
Why we use your information
We use your details to respond to your consultation request, to send you the practice newsletter if you asked for it, and to prepare for any sessions we agree on.
The legal basis is your consent (you fill in the forms yourself and can withdraw it at any time) and, once therapy begins, the need to provide proper professional care.
- 04
How we store and protect it
Form submissions are stored in an access-controlled database hosted within the European Union. Only the practice team can see them. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or marketing companies — ever.
Please remember that email and website forms are not fully confidential channels. It is always your choice how much you share before we speak directly.
- 05
How long we keep it
Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Consultation requests from people who do not start therapy are deleted within 12 months. If we work together, we follow the professional record-keeping rules that apply to psychotherapy practices in the Netherlands.
- 07
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to see what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to limit or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. You can also withdraw your consent at any time — for example, by unsubscribing from the newsletter.
To use any of these rights, send us a message through the contact form. If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, the latest version will always be on this page. When changes are significant, we will mention them on the website.
