Anxiety Therapy in Amsterdam

Sessions in English & Hungarian · In person on Nassaukade, Amsterdam, or online

What anxiety can look like

  • Constant worry or "what if" thinking you can't switch off
  • A racing heart, tight chest or panic attacks
  • Trouble sleeping or relaxing, even when nothing is wrong
  • Avoiding situations, calls or decisions
  • Overthinking conversations and social situations
  • Worrying about your health, your work or your relationships

Why anxiety often grows after moving abroad

Moving countries removes many of the things that kept you steady: familiar people, routines, language and a sense of how things work. Add uncertainty about visas, work or housing, and your nervous system can stay on high alert for months. Feeling more anxious abroad is not a sign of weakness; it is a common response to a big change.

How I work with anxiety

  1. Step 1

    Free 15-minute consultation

We talk about what you are experiencing and whether we are a good fit.

  2. Step 2

    Understanding the pattern

Together we map what triggers your anxiety and what keeps it going, including avoidance.

  3. Step 3

    Changing the pattern

CBT tools help you respond differently in the moment; Schema Therapy works on the deeper beliefs underneath, such as "I must not make mistakes" or "I will be left alone".

  4. Step 4

    Processing the past

When anxiety is linked to specific memories, EMDR can reduce how strongly they affect you today.

What the research says

Psychological therapy is a recommended first treatment for anxiety disorders. UK guidance from NICE recommends CBT-based therapy for generalised anxiety disorder and panic disorder. See the NICE guidance on generalised anxiety disorder and panic disorder.
